Trump's Regime of Consequences and Incentives

Trump's voracious urge for payback has quickly transformed into a organized system. Within the twelve months, the leader's rage and whims have adopted the shape of official policies in ways analogous to earlier authoritarian regimes. Federal figures who fail to comply are promptly dismissed and replaced by loyalists. Opposing leaders who challenge him face indictment, court proceedings and punishment. Critics have been categorized under presidential directives as “anti-American”, “against faith communities” and “opposing economic freedom”, and threatened with criminal charges as “terrorists”.

Federal Agencies Transformed

Each case involving legal action of critics and immunity for his allies demonstrates its own particular characteristics. But, regardless of their individual nature, they exemplify expressions of what has emerged as a calculated approach. These events are far from isolated. The administration's purge of federal attorneys and FBI agents, coupled with his installation of devotees in senior posts, began rapidly, promptly took on a regularity, and has now been formed into a system. The justice department and the Federal Bureau have been restructured into political bodies under the president's explicit command to carry out his directives. Injustice has been turned into standard. It constitutes the retribution system.

Management is preoccupied with penalizing the President's alleged adversaries than they are with protecting our public welfare.

Within the System

The beginnings of this system has been uncovered in the lawsuit of multiple previous top law enforcement officials filed in September in the judicial system in the capital against FBI director an administration figure and top lawyer another official for illegal termination in “a effort of payback against them for what administration figures deemed to be a refusal to show proper allegiance”. According to the filing that one official, the ex- acting FBI director, recounts a conversation in which he “openly admitted the unlawfulness of his behavior”.

He had sought to protect agency personnel from being terminated, the lawsuit alleges. Patel advised him that “White House figures” – understood by him to be the presidential administration and justice department – had ordered him to dismiss anyone who they considered as having been involved in a legal probe against Trump. The filing goes on: “The director explained that he had to terminate the personnel his leaders told him to remove, because his chance to retain his own job relied on the ouster of the officials who were involved in matters involving the President. The director explained that there was nothing he or him could do to prevent these or any other firings, because ‘the bureau tried to put the chief in prison and he hasn't forgotten it.’” After Driscoll informed the director he was breaking the agency's own regulations, he supposedly said “he recognized that and he was aware the nature of the swift terminations were almost certainly illegal”.

Widespread Consequences

Since his claimed acknowledgment to the official, the justice department and the Federal Bureau have been dismantled and reorganized for Trump's retribution system. Multiple of the agency's high-ranking agents were dismissed or pushed out in the first days of the administration. About 4,500 professional attorneys at the justice department have accepted a “early exit scheme”. No fewer than seven government attorneys, among them those in the southern district of New York, stepped down in protest over what they regarded as political interference in dropping the criminal prosecution against the New York City mayor, a political figure, in as a trade for his collaboration with Trump's Immigration and Customs Enforcement roundups of migrants. The public integrity section of DoJ, which oversees ethical violations, has been reduced to minimal staff. The equality section has been severely reduced: the majority of its staff has resigned. One-third of senior leaders at the justice department have left. The unit enforcing environmental law has experienced the exit of a majority its leadership.

Rewards and Sanctions

Regarding the Adams case, the temporary lawyer for the NY office, Danielle Sassoon, stepped down in objection against what she labeled as the “exchange”. A key figure, the president's “immigration leader,” appeared as the enforcer with Adams on Fox News to state: “Unless he complies, I'll reappear in New York City.”. Additionally, a former official, earlier the senior DoJ official and a former Trump attorney, who brokered the agreement, was given an appellate federal judgeship, a likely springboard to the supreme court.

The president's immunity for wrongdoings perpetrated while in government, provided by the unprecedented ruling of the Republican majority on the judicial body, thus preventing his criminal case over the political violence and safeguarding his electoral prospects for the presidential race, is the cornerstone on which he depends to defend his supporters. Under these circumstances, he has been empowered to permit misconduct. The consequence of the judicial ruling permeates his government and the GOP completely. Trump v United States has spread. As the former president's White House counsel the figure remarked about the Watergate
