The legal representative, presenting evidence, described Ruben's offending to the judicial body.

She explained his those affected were children from difficult backgrounds who were staying at a summer camp which he ran.

The defendant conducted a "candy game" with the minors, Mrs Prior stated, in which he would access the sleeping quarters when they were getting ready for bed and tell them to eat sweets "rapidly".

She informed the proceedings the man had conducted this practice with the children "repeatedly", and children had earlier experienced illness the following morning.

She stated the man had been successful in rationalizing this repeatedly as the youngsters being "overexcited from fun", until his stepchild had suspicions in summer 2025.

The prosecutor added: "In the summer" his stepchild had worries about the situation, with valid cause.

"They chose" to have a look in the defendant's belongings."

The legal counsel explained materials including baby oil, Vaseline and syringes were found, and his stepson contacted the law enforcement about his worries.

She stated Ruben proceeded to engage in the "treat game" with six children that evening - that Saturday - and they were all ill the following morning.

"The police had not gone out by that time," she stated further.

The regulatory agency, the police conduct office, earlier informed that it was examining Leicestershire Police's handling of the events.

The prosecutor said the minors were struggling to walk due to their sickness, so Ruben's stepson called the police a second time.

She stated the man then played the "candy game" in a room of five minors.
